This attractive 200 year old cottage is situated in the village of Mayfield, just off the Ashbourne to Uttoxeter road (B5032) in the valley of the river Dove. It overlooks farmland at the rear. The village affords a good general store and is about two miles from the pleasant market town of Ashbourne (the gateway to Dovedale, Peak District and Manifold Valley).
The cottage has been modernised and provides large lounge, dining room, hall and kitchen, separate W.C. and bathroom and four bedrooms for up to 8 people with 4 double bedrooms.
Full gas central heating and gas fire/cooking, colour TV, automatic washing machine, fridge freezer, ironing facilities and telephone for guests' use. Outside there is a fenced garden, lawn and garage, with standing space for 4 cars.
Dove Cottage offers an ideal base for touring by car or walking in many of the beauty spots of the area.
DIRECTIONS
From Ashbourne take the A52 (Leek to Stoke-on-Trent road) for about 1,5 miles. Turn left at Queens Arms on B5032 road for Uttoxeter. At the top of the hill, just past the Post Office and Seatons Garage, turn left down Conygree Lane for about 1/4 mile. Look for sign 'Mayfield Yarns' - Dove Cottage is now oil your right.

Ashfield Cottage, on a working farm adjacent to the farmhouse, is newly converted to it high standard from an old stone building, retaining original oak beams. It is situated just off the B5032 (Ashbourne to Uttoxeter road) between the villages of Mayfield and Ellastone. It is about 5 miles from Ashbourne (the gateway to Dovedale, Peak District and Manifold Valley). It is ideal for touring by car or walking in many of the beauty spots of the area.
The accommodation provides bathroom with W.C. and two bedrooms for up to 5 persons (1 family room and 1 with twin beds) on the ground floor. The living accommodation above has a kitchen and large lounge with magnificent views across the Dove Valley from the picturesque window. Electric central heating and cooking, colour TV, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing facilities and fridge freezer. Telephone for guests' use.
